Nikolay Durasov’s Palace in Liublino was built at the very beginning of the XIX century by architects I. Egotov and R. Kazakov who followed the traditions of late classicism. The palace was created especially for balls and amusements of Moscow nobility. Even nowadays it amazes guests with its peculiar architecture and the artistic décor of the gala chambers. The history of this really exquisite palace built in Empire style will be revealed in the proposed tour; you will be able to walk around its halls, enjoy its décor and see its present life.

‘The Glory of Those Days Shall Never Fade’ (5+)

The program starts with a thematic tour devoted to the history of Kolomenskoye during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). You will discover an absolutely different Kolomenskoye with antiaircraft batteries, aerostatic balloons, and bomb shelters, and find out about the museum life during the Battle of Moscow (1941 – beginning of 1942). At the Beginners’ Training short interactive course you will learn how to roll up a great-coat and use a martial cloak, get to grips with a soldier’s kit, and learn a military song. Tsar Alexey Mikhailovich and His Family at Kolomenskoye Palace (6+)

The program is an attempt to look at the palace life not from the traditional gala but from the everyday life point of view. Here, the life of the Tsar’s family is considered to be the cornerstone. During the tour you will be shown around the men’s and women’s halves of the palace. At the artistic part of the program you will find yourself in the chambers of Tsarina Natalia Kirillovna Naryshkina. Tsar Alexey Mikhailovich will come himself to inquire after health of the Tsarina and young Tsarevich Peter Alexeevich. Besides, you will see the Tsar’s elder daughters including the famous Tsarevna Sofia. The Tsar and his kindred will come before you as a big family, and Tsar Alexey Mikhailovich will be first of all represented as a genuine family man and loving father, and only then as a sovereign.

The theatrical performance will be held both by fairy-tale characters, such as Snowstorm and Snowman, and historical ones – Tsar Alexey Mikhailovich and Tsarina Natalia Kirillovna Naryshkina. The program is aimed at those willing to organize a celebration of a birthday, family feast, wedding or any other occasion. A Tsar’s hunt will be organized in honour of the arriving guests. Submerging into the atmosphere of the XVIII century and gradually solving riddle by riddle you will have to explore the Izmailovo Island to find a ‘wondrous beast’. In the second part of the program you will meet Empress Anna of Russia and her favourite she-jester, take part in palace amusements and court games. Honouring of the guests and a feast on the occasion of a successful hunt will take place at the end of the program.

Glazed Tile Art at the Tsar’s Courtyard (5+)

The program consisting of a brief account of the Izmailovo Island history and a tour of the Moscow Glazed Tiles Art exposition located in the Mostovaya (Bridge) Tower, will introduce you into the world of glazed tile art masters who worked in Moscow and Izmailovo, and reveal reasons for the rise of that kind of art in the XVII century. Afterwards you can solidify the gained knowledge during a practical training by making a clay tile with your own hands. Tea with crackles makes the closing part of the program.
