Exhibit collections restoration

The Moscow State Integrated Museum-Reserve stock counts over 120 thousand museum exhibits of great cultural value and is divided into 14 collections all of which make part of the Russian State Museum Stock.

The majority of the museum collections are stored in the Depository that was built on the territory of the Kolomenskoye estate in 1984 and is the first facility inRussiathat serves several purposes, namely the storage, registering and restoration of museum exhibits.

The reconstruction of the Depository building that has a usable area of 2,000 sq. m. was held in 2005-2007. Under the glass dome of the Depository enclosed court there is a two-storeyed Atrium Hall that has an area of 1,450 sq. m. The hall is used for holding expositions and at the same time represents a unique form of open storage facility for large-size museum exhibits.
