Welcome to the XIX century drawing-room of book lovers!

Collecting libraries and organizing literary parties with compulsory reading out were a bright part of the nobility country life two centuries ago. Old books from country estate collections and graphic album illustrations with picturesque country views and genre scenes are displayed along with accessories, tableware, lamps and engravings to create a traditional cozy drawing-room atmosphere of the time. The centerpiece of the display is a lifetime edition of Alexender Pushkin’s ‘Prisoner of the Caucasus’ poem.
