You can visit this exhibition presenting watercolour works by students of the Academy of Watercolour and Fine Arts of Sergey Andiraka at the Theater Mansion of the Palace of Tsar Alexey Mikhailovich in Kolomenskoye.
In Russia, the golden age of the album genre took place at the beginning of the XIX century when finely decorated small albums with leather or morocco binding and gilt edges came in fashion. The epoch of sentimentalism affected the contents of ‘memory books’ that were filled with poetic messages and symbolic images typical of elegiacs. The pages of albums were covered with drawings of shadowy park nooks, romantic ruins and graceful flowers. The tradition of album sketches survived till our days.
Works by students of the Academy of Watercolour and Fine Arts of Sergey Andiraka present a modern take of young artists on the album sketches.
